Passengers flying non-stop to the US from Doha are now prohibited from using iPads, Kindles and most other electronic items during their journeys.

The US Department of Homeland Security has announced a ban on such items in the cabin of aircraft coming from 10 cities, including Doha.



Cabinet nod for amendments to property leasing law

Qatar ranked 33rd in Human Development Index

A report issued by the UNDP on Monday in Stockholm under the theme 'Human Development for All' has put Qatar in the first place among Arab Countries and at 33rd position in the world in terms of Human Development Index (HDI).

Qatar does not import any meat or poultry products from Brazilian meat processing establishments which have been placed under a special surveillance, Roberto Abdalla, Brazilian ambassador to Qatar said yesterday.
The ambassador yesterday issued a clarification regarding the controls and certification of meat products enforced by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA).
Qatar recently placed restrictions on import of meat and poultry consignments from Brazil amid media reports that the country has been exporting meat that is unfit for consumption.
