Cabinet nod for amendments to property leasing law

The Cabinet yesterday approved a draft law amending some provisions of law regarding property leasing. Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Emiri Diwan.
The meeting approved a draft law amending some provisions of the Law No. 4 of 2008 regarding property leasing, and decided to refer it to the Advisory Council.

Metrash 2 adds automatic renewal of Qatar residence permits

The Ministry of Interior added two new e-services to its mobile app Metrash 2 and the website of the Ministry.
Now the companies and institutions can register for automatic renewal of residence permits of the employees. The other new service allows companies to subscribe for direct debit service through the Metrash 2 account.

Ashghal to build new interchange

The Public Works Authority, Ashghal, will start constructing a new multi-level interchange on the New Orbital Highway and Truck Route project, aimed at upgrading the existing roundabout.
In coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, new routes for the four loops will be available on Sunday until the required revamp comes to a close
The new multi-level interchange will open in 2018 and will increase the existing road capacity from three lanes to five lanes in each direction.

A report published by a British newspaper has revealed that Qatari investors are in possession of more property in London than the city’s mayor and even the Queen.
The Telegraph said in a Friday report that Qatar has become one of the biggest landlords in the British capital over the past ten years, currently owning 24 million square feet of the city's prime real estate.

About 85% of the infrastructural development works of the new residential developments being executed in Al Mashaf West and North Wukair are completed, Ashghal and Qatar Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) announced yesterday.
All works are expected to be over in the second quarter of this year in the projects areas, officials explained during a media tour of the construction sites off Wukair area on the south western side of Doha yesterday.

The 13th edition of Arab Towns Organisation Awards has disclosed details about the four award-winning entries from Qatar. Doha, Al Wakra, Al Shamal, and Al Rayyan had won prizes in the 13th edition of Arab Towns Organisation Awards announced last week.
The jury members said in their evaluation that Doha city won the first position in 'Architecture Award' category for its project Hazm al Markhiya residential project because the project was an excellent place for entertainment and shopping.
