October 5, 2020

Doha: Ooredoo, the region’s leading enabler of digital business innovation, announced yesterday the launch of Ooredoo Cloud Connect to Microsoft Azure, to provide Qatar’s organisations with secure, reliable, and affordable cloud connectivity services to drive digital transformation. This makes Ooredoo a Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute connectivity provider in the country.

Ooredoo Cloud Connect offers access to Microsoft Azure’s private domain services in Europe, and public cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365. Organisations can also gain real-time visibility on their network to optimise performance.

Chief Business Officer at Ooredoo, Sheikh Nasser Al Thani said: “With every organisation in Qatar redefining its cloud strategy, Ooredoo Cloud Connect to Microsoft Azure is Qatar’s first solution to provide end-to-end, private, reliable, and affordable access to Microsoft Azure. Our customers can gain higher agility, faster go-to-market, dedicated connectivity, and enhanced management.”

Thanks to reliable uptime, low latency, and low packet loss, organisations can confidently and readily adopt a hybrid cloud architecture. Using Ooredoo’s on-net end-to-end capacity, customers can seamlessly move between bandwidths, and expeditiously put WAN into place.

Organisations can gain peace of mind that the end-to-end Ooredoo private network provides high levels of physical and logical security, especially for the government and public sector.

Partner PM, Azure Networking at Microsoft Corp, Ross Ortega, said: “Ooredoo is helping to accelerate digital transformation across the region. Our collaboration will now expand the range and connectivity of its services to Microsoft Azure, enabling organisations to empower, engage, optimise and transform. Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute, combined with Ooredoo Cloud Connect, will deliver the scalability, reliability, reduced latency, and independence demanded by enterprise customers. We look forward to working together and empowering our customers to innovate and achieve more.”

Business customers can leverage the Ooredoo Advantage, making Ooredoo ‘Best for Business’, thanks to its breadth and depth of talent, best fixed and mobile networks, broadest portfolio of ICT services and solutions, and trusted partner for 60 years.
