Al Daayen municipality tops in issuing building permits in Dec

Municipality of Al Daayen topped all municipalities in Qatar in terms of the number of building permits issued in December 2020 with 248 permits, representing 26 percent of the total issued permits during the month, Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has said in its latest report.
According to PSA’s seventy-second issue of the monthly statistics of building permits and building completion certificates issued by all municipalities in Qatar, Al Doha came in second place with 200 permits- 21 percent of the total- followed by municipality of Al Rayyan with 189 permits (19 percent) and municipality of Al Wakrah with 149 permits (15 percent).
Umm Slal with 90 permits accounted for 9 percent of the total, while Al Khor saw 41 permits (4 percent), Al Sheehaniya had 30 permits (3 percent), and Al Shammal saw 25 permits (3 percent).
In terms of the type of permits issued, data indicates that the new building permits including residential and non-residential reached 507 permits, constituting 52 percent of the total building permits issued during the month of December, while the percentage of additions permits reached 44 percent with 429 permits. Fencing permits accounted for 4 percent with
36 permits.
By analysing new residential buildings permits data, it was found that villa topped the list, accounting for 77 percent of all new residential buildings permits with 329 permits, followed by dwellings of housing loans permits by 13 percent (54 permits) and apartments buildings by 8 percent (34 permits).
On the other hand, commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings permits with 44 percent (36 permits), followed by industrial buildings like workshops and factories with 31 percent (25 permits), then governmental buildings with 19 percent (15 permits).
Comparing the number of permits issued in December 2020 with those issued in the previous month we noted a general increase of
28 percent.
The increase was noted in most of the municipalities: Al Da’ayen (68 percent), Al Sheehaniya (58 percent), Umm Slal (50 percent), Al Shammal (39 percent), Al Rayyan (30 percent), Al Doha (24 percent), On the other hand, there was a clear decrease in the municipality of Al Khor (13 percent), Al Wakrah
(9 percent).
According to the data on building completion certificates issued during the month of December 2020, Al Rayyan municipality topped all municipalities with the issuance of 95 building completion certificates, accounting for 30 percent of the total issued certificates, while the municipality of Al Wakrah came in second place with 77 certificates (24 percent), followed by the municipality of Al Doha with 44 certificates (14 percent), then Al Daayen municipality with 35 certificates (11 percent).
Umm Slal with 32 certificates accounted for 10 percent, Al Sheehaniya with 18 certificates accounted for 6 percent, Al Khor with 10 certificates accounted for 3 percent and Al Shammal with eight certificates accounted for 3 percent.
In terms of the type of certificates issued, data indicates that the new building completion certificates including residential and non-residential accounted for 69 percent with 220 certificates of the total building certificates issued during December 2020, while the percentage of additions certificates constituted 31 percent with
99 certificates.
By analysing new residential buildings completion certificates data, it was found that villas topped the list, accounting for 58 percent of all new residential buildings completion certificates with 104 certificates, followed by dwellings of housing loans certificates by 36 percent (64 certificates), then apartments buildings by 3 percent (6 certificates).
On the other hand, commercial buildings were found to be in the forefront of non-residential buildings completion certificates with 39 percent (16 certificates), followed by and industrial buildings like workshops and factories with 29 percent (12 certificates), then governmental buildings and mosques with 24 percent (5 certificates) for each.
Comparing number of certificates issued in December 2020 with those issued in the previous month, it was noted there was a general decrease of 10 percent. This decrease was clearly noted in some of the municipalities like Al Da’ayen (51 percent), Al Doha (33 percent), Al Wakrah (10 percent).
On the other hand, there was a clear increase in the municipality of Al Sheehaniya (200 percent), Al Khor (25 percent), Al Rayyan (20 percent), Umm Slal (7 percent), while Al Shammal municipality maintained the same number of issued certificates.
