Vodafone Qatar’s H1 profit up 65.5% to QR134 mn

Vodafone Qatar has reported its half-yearly net profit of QR134 million, representing an increase of 65.5 percent year-on-year, mainly driven by higher EBITDA.
Total Revenue increased by 8.5 percent year-on-year to reach QR1.16 billion driven by continued growth in the company’s postpaid revenue and fixed broadband services in addition to higher handset sales. Service revenue grew by 7.8% to reach QR1.08 billion during the period.
EBITDA for the period stood at QR472 million, representing a strong improvement of 21.1 percent year-on-year, positively impacted by higher service revenue and continued cost optimization initiatives. EBITDA margin expanded by 4.2 percentage points to reach 40.6 percent. Vodafone Qatar is now serving 1.7 million mobile customers representing an increase of 3.9% year-on-year.
