‘Volvo Pride Day’ in Qatar scores big success with huge turnout

September 28, 2021

The Volvo Showroom at Markhiya was the scene of a lot of festive activity at the “Volvo Pride Day”, organised for Volvo car owners in Qatar. As a premium car brand owned by those who are very selective in their choice of cars, Volvo Qatar decided that it would be a great idea to host a day exclusively for loyal Volvo owners.
Jonathan Pollock, Managing Director, Domasco Volvo, expressed his happiness at the success of the event.
“We, at Volvo, were thrilled at the positive turnout of so many owners, many along with their families. It proved to be a great occasion for bonding, networking, and for many fun experiences with a Swedish touch for the many Volvo enthusiasts who had congregated at the Volvo showroom. This day also proved to be an exceptional platform to showcase our new models, especially our latest Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) range. Volvo, with its green pledge to have around 50% of the cars to be pure electric by 2025 and the other 50% to be hybrids, and as one of the pioneering brands in sustainable transportation, sees it as a significant initiative to be introduced to the environmentally-aware residents of Qatar.”
It was a memorable day, both for the Volvo owners and for the people at Volvo with many interesting activities through the day that kept the celebratory spirit alive and going. An interesting quiz on Volvo facts was organized which ended with a winner being picked and given a Volvo XC90 PHEV car to be test driven for the weekend. There were fun activities like face painting and a balloon twister for children. Volvo owners also had the opportunity to walk through a ‘Volvo Facts’ series of exhibits which conveyed Volvo’s moments of pride over the years!
The food and beverages being served centred on the concept of ‘Fika’ - a state of mind, an attitude and an important part of Swedish culture. It means making time for friends and colleagues to share a cup of coffee or tea and a little something to eat. It was precisely what took place at the event where Volvo owners shared their car experiences with the Volvo team over a cup of tea or coffee.
Volvo’s customers got to experience first-hand the new Volvo XC40, XC60, XC90 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) models along with the Volvo S90 whose Bowers & Wilkins sound system was also demoed. Being a very special day, Volvo owners were also offered an attractive upgrade voucher that could be used for Trade-in or other services if they chose to upgrade their car to a new Volvo car in the near future. They were also provided with a free car polishing offer for their current Volvo cars.
Volvo cars are distributed in Qatar by Doha Marketing Services Company (DOMASCO), a leading multi-brand company in Qatar and a member of the Al-Futtaim Group.
It has a diversified portfolio of passenger cars, motor bikes, commercial vehicles, marine and power products, watches and electronics representing some of the world’s most visible and award-winning brands.
