Preparations for 2022 Nishan Vodafone Ramadan Tournament continue

The technical preparations and exercises of the Nishan Vodafone Ramadan Tournament and Festival of accompanying games continued on Wednesday in the attendance of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain.
Under the patronage of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the tournament will run until April 19 at the Lusail Shooting Range.
In statement on Wednesday, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Tamimi, tournament director and assistant secretary-general of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Association, said the exercises of Shotgun, Rifle, Pistol and Archery are seeing a big turnout from men, women and children.
“Our shooting range, restaurants and cafes remain open for all age groups to enjoy their amazing time in this Ramadan Heritage Gathering,” added Tamimi.
On his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Thani, head of the technical committee, lauded the big turnout from participants, whose number has exceeded 300 competitors in the amateur event - 18 years and above - and the professional event - opened for all.
“There is a special office that collate the results of the competitors in the exercises and the official competitions, which will get underway on the 10th of Ramadan” Sheikh Mohammed added.
The tournament aims to discover the most talented participants in the game, develop their skills and help clubs and national teams to achieve quantum leap in the game, as well as to promote the sport among citizens and residents whose rate of participation in the game rises sharply year after year.
