The Health Control Department has also carried out intensive inspection campaigns on sweets and nuts shops and restaurants to ensure that healthy and sound methods are followed in the preparation and processing of foodstuffs and that all workers adhere to the required health requirements.
The department's complaints team also received and responded to a number of complaints, took samples of a number of foodstuffs and sent them to the central laboratory to ensure their suitability for human consumption.
The campaign also resulted in the seizure of expired food items in one of the restaurants and the issuance of a seizure report in violation of Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding the regulation of human food control.
