QIIB sponsors Phoenix Games Fitness Championship

Doha: Within the framework of QIIB’s pioneering role in community service and its contribution to the booming field of sports and the events organised at the local level, the Bank sponsored the Phoenix Games Fitness Championship which was held in Aspire Zone from June 15-18, 2022.

The tournament was organised with the participation of more than 200 athletes of 35 nationalities who competed in a range of sports that focus on strength and endurance.

The tournament received great attention and follow-up as it is one of the distinguished events hosted by Doha.

Commenting on QIIB’s sponsorship of the championship, Omar Abdelaziz Al Meer, Head of Business Development and Alternative Channels Sector said: “At QIIB, we are pleased to be at the forefront of supporting social, sports, and charitable activities and other events, in support of the implementation of Qatar National Vision 2030”.

He added: “Our support for the Phoenix Games Fitness Championship also comes within the framework of our support and encouragement for all kinds of sports, especially games that motivate members of the society to practice sports and transform it into a lifestyle that enriches the community and makes sports and health prominent pillars in it”.

Al Meer further stated: “We congratulate the organisers of the tournament for their success in planning the event and attracting a large number of distinguished athletes, and for measuring up to Qatar’s distinguished reputation, which is characterised as the global hub for sporting events in various games.

“QIIB will continue its role in serving the community and providing support and assistance to activities that provide value addition and contribute to promoting the positive spirit and the values of participation and interaction between peoples,” Al Meer concluded.
