GBCQ holds annual general assembly
The German Business Council (GBCQ) conducted its annual general assembly to elect this year’s board members, yesterday at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The event was attended by numerous officials and entrepreneurs and highlighted the significant role made by the investors, trade partnerships, and contributions towards the country including the World Cup 2022. During his opening remark, GBCQ Chairman, Henning Zimmermann outlined the meeting agenda and the vital changes that will be implemented this year. On behalf of the Ambassador of German to Qatar H E Claudius Fischbach, the welcome note was given by Bern Stadtmueller, official at the German embassy who accentuated the various successful projects carried out by German companies and the contribution towards Qatar and its community, playing a key role in the sustainable development of business and economy.
During the session, GBCQ activities for the years 2021 and 2022 were highlighted including webinars, social networking, and other delegation visits. In addition to that, from June 2022 to June 2023 key events were also presented including social events, sectoral events, business opportunities, legal networking sessions, and other projects and company visits.
The meeting also witnessed officials from GBCQ present Auditor’s reports and also approved the new statute amendments. The elections for the GBCQ board, treasurer, auditors, and arbitration committee were held through a voting system.
Before the announcement of new GBCQ board members, a panel discussion entitled ‘Tourism in Qatar: A Sustainable Future?’.
The session was conducted along with Qatar Tourism and Katara Hospitality took place.
