In order to develop highest standards of transparency and end complaints from trainees who fail driving tests, smart cars have been introduced in some driving schools, a high official at the Traffic Department said.
“We have already introduced it and applied it in two schools among them is Dallah Driving Academy. Soon these smart cars which are capable of assessing driving-skills of drivers will be introduced in other driving schools as well. Our aim is to develop our services for people that will also stop all complaints from trainees,” said Brigadier Mohammed Saad Al Kharji, Director of the General Directorate of Traffic.
It will prevent direct contact between the applicant and the examiner. “All driving tests like parking and others will be carried out by these new smart cars and the process is going on to include all schools in the new scheme of conducting driving tests through smart vehicles,” Al Kharji added.
The new introduced “smart cars” for driving tests will decide the results without intervention of the supervising policemen because they are equipped with cameras and ability to record the results directly on the traffic department system.
Currently, many trainees complain that policeman (examiner) has the right to pass or fail the candidate but with new smart cars no policeman will sit with trainees and he will be monitoring trainee through camera even would be able to communicate with the trainee distantly during tests.
Trainees will not be able to deny their mistakes when they commit them because the mistakes will be registered automatically and they can see their mistakes.
