July 30, 2020

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by Department of Fish Resources, has launched 4,300 young Hamour fish weighing 15 grams into Qatar marine waters.
The young Hamour were produced by the Aquatic Research Center in Ras Matbakh.
This is a continuation of the fish stock enrichment programme, which includes the production of local fish of economic value locally cultivated, and their release into national waters to contribute to increasing the stock of these species.
The programme is included in the second national development strategy 2018-2022 for natural resources, which is an ambitious programme supervised by the Department of Fish Resources, and it includes spawning fish species desired locally and the production and release of larvae in national waters to enrich the stocks of these fish and thus increase production and thereby contribute to achieving food security requirements.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Municipality and the Environment represented by the Department of Public Hygiene has continued to clean prayer grounds across the country in preparation for the blessed Eid Al-Adha prayers.
