Qatar’s telecom major Ooredoo on Wednesday announced that it has won two prestigious awards at the 2020 Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony in recognition of its leading position in providing best practice Investor Relations (IR) in the region.
At the MEIRA awards ceremony, the Ooredoo Group won the ‘Leading Corporate for Investor Relations’ – Qatar’, and the ‘Best Investor Relations Professional – Qatar’ awards.
Ooredoo Group Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Saud bin Nasser Al Thani said, “We are honoured that our efforts to provide outstanding investor relations have been recognised for the fifth year in a row, as we seek to provide analysts and shareholders with fair, timely and transparent information about our performance.
“Ooredoo Group continues to deliver long term shareholder value, thanks to our strong balance sheet, good revenue generation ability and leadership in 5G deployment and digitalisation. I would like to thank our Investor Relations team for their commitment and dedication to maintaining best practices and keeping our shareholders and the wider investment community informed.”
The Middle East Investor Relations Association is the largest IR event in the MENA. It was held this year under the theme ‘Driving stakeholder value’, recognising the importance of all stakeholders who play an essential role in the IR landscape and reflecting the importance of IR in responding to changes in market structure, regulation and technology.
This year, the event was held virtually due to the current pandemic environment.
