QIG accelerates corporate social responsibility efforts

Qatar Insurance Group, the leading insurer in Qatar and the MENA region, has become the official insurance sponsor of Katara’s World Beach Volleyball Championship and Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Golf Championship, for the year 2021.
The continuous participation of Qatar Insurance Group as the official insurance sponsor for these sporting events reaffirms its commitment to supporting the wellbeing & development of the community which is an integral part of its corporate social responsibility mission.
Katara World Beach Volleyball Championship is the fourth edition of this 4-Star category event, of which Qatar Insurance Group is a “Golden sponsor”.
Qatar Insurance Group first became a sponsor of this championship in 2007 and since then have been long standing and a strong supporter of the event. The importance of this tournament is characterised by being one of the International Volleyball Federation event for the current season. The tournament was held at Al Gharafa beach grounds, from 8th -12th March, with over 100 participating teams from 88 countries.
Qatar Insurance Group also announced its official insurance sponsorship of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters Golf Championship, Edition No. (24) for the year 2021. The championship was held on the grounds of the Education City Golf Club, from 11th – 14th March. Both of these sporting events took place in exceptional circumstances as the world still faces an unprecedented global pandemic, and these tournaments were held strictly in accordance with the precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Public Health.
Senior vice-president of QIC MENA Retail and Motor Claims Ahmed Al Jarboey expressed his excitement on company’s keenness to provide support and sponsorship for these important sporting championships, and wished success to all participants.
